Panther chameleons are peaceful creatures that resemble tiny dinosaurs and are only found in one place in the world, Madagascar. They seem to have their own personalities and at times can be very inquisitive. They are small arboreal reptiles that occupy small trees and bushes throughout the coastal areas and rain forests of Madagascar. Panther chameleons like to stay off of the ground to avoid predators and they have evolved over millions of years for this sort of living. They are probably most well known for being masters of camouflage and the colors they display are specific to the region of Madagascar that they come from. In recent years breeders have begun mixing panthers from various regions to produce even more exotic color combinations. They are also famous for their long sticky tongues, which they can shoot out the length of their body or even further to catch their prey. They have excellent eyesight with binocular eyes that allow them to see in two different directions at the same time. They have fused toes to help them grip branches, prehensile tails made for climbing, and they can free-fall from the tops of trees without harming themselves due to their special cartilaginous ribs. Panther chameleons truly are amazing creatures with their many unique features and exotic color patterns that make them one of the most beautiful reptiles found on the planet.
